María Jesús Algarra y Jesús Tornero se imponen en el VI Duatlón Cross de Villamayor de Santiago

Este pasado domingo 7 de julio ha tenido lugar el VI Duatlón Cross de Villamayor de Santiago, sexta prueba puntuable del V Circuito de Duatlón y Montaña Diputación de Cuenca con una participación total de 110 duatletas.

Un año más el Duatlón Cross de Villamayor de Santiago tenía como escenario la Plaza de Toros y sus alrededores. En una mañana soleada sin exceso de calor y calmada de aire, los duatletas comenzaron a completar su prueba a las 9:30 horas, cubriendo los primeros 5 kilómetros a pie en un circuito de dos vueltas por las calles del pueblo. Rápidamente se empezaron a destacar algunos atletas entre los que se veía que saldría el vencedor de la prueba. Llegaron a la transición -en el coso taurino-para coger la bici Antonio Cerezo, en primer lugar, seguido de cerca por un grupo de corredores, de donde partieron para cubrir los 20 kilómetros del recorrido de esta especialidad , también con dos vueltas a un circuito de 10 kilómetros. Sin los puestos claros se mantuvo la emoción y baile de posiciones llegando a la Plaza de Toros para dejar la bici en primer lugar Jesús Tornero, seguido de Antonio Cerezo y de cerca un grupo, donde se jugaban el tercer puesto. Salieron para terminar los últimos 2,5 kilómetros de carrera a pie en esas posiciones llegando a meta en primer lugar el del Triemoción Bike-Meta 3 Jesús Tornero, seguido de Antonio Cerezo del Eur. Casvi B. del Monte, siendo tercero finalmente Santos Hernández del C. Roble Bike que realizó un gran último sector que le sirvió para subir al tercer cajón del pódium.

En el grupo de las chicas la veterana del C.A. Cuenca Dolomia Mª Jesús Algarra, demostraba su gran clase desde el principio sacando amplia ventaja en la carrera a pie a Cristina Belmar -del Sunne Racing-Nutriobelix- que aunque recortó algo en bici no pudo darle caza a Mª Jesús que aún pudo ampliarla de nuevo en el último sector sacando algo más de dos minutos de ventaja. Mismo tiempo que Cristina sacaba a la tercera clasificada, la del Club Triatlón Criptana Alicia Jiménez.

Terminada la prueba, en la entrega de premios contamos con la presencia de José Vicente Fernández, Diputado Provincial, Rocío Martínez Navas, concejala de Juventud, y Rafael Bustos Rodrigo, concejal de Deportes.

El Circuito descansa esta semana para reanudarse con una Carrera por Montaña, será el Trail Tragacete Naturalmente – IV Subida a San Felipe, que se celebrará el 21 de Julio a partir  de las 9:00 horas con la posibilidad de realizar el Circuito de 21 km o el de promoción de 10 km de distancia.
