UGT Castilla-La Mancha pide avanzar hacia un marco regulatorio para la abolición de la prostitución

UGT Castilla-La Mancha ha pedido hoy avanzar en un marco regulatorio que haga posible la abolición de la prostitución, una forma de explotación y violencia sexual frente a las mujeres que “en ningún caso puede considerarse un trabajo”. En el Día Internacional de la Explotación Sexual y el Tráfico de Mujeres, Niñas y Niños que se conmemora cada 23 de septiembre, la secretaria de Empleo, Igualdad y Políticas Sociales del sindicato en la región, Isabel Carrascosa, ponía de manifiesto que -según las últimas cifras publicadas en el Macroestudio sobre trata, explotación sexual y prostitución de mujeres de la Delegación del Gobierno contra la Violencia de Género- en la región se estima que hay alrededor de 2.500 mujeres en situación de prostitución.

Advertía igualmente del incremento de los delitos contra la libertad sexual. En 2025 se contabilizaron en Castilla-La Mancha un total de 1.819, un 14% más que en 2024.

Recordaba además la reivindicación que hace UGT para que haya una verdadera protección de las mujeres y niñas víctimas de prostitución o en riesgo de trata con fines de explotación sexual. De hecho, el sindicato -a nivel nacional- tiene presentada una reclamación colectiva contra España ante el Comité Europeo de Derechos Sociales al no garantizarse esta protección en nuestro país y por vulneración del sistema de derechos y garantías de la Carta Social Europea.

Isabel Carrascosa defiende que hay que forzar el debate que nos dirija hacia un modelo abolicionista que verdaderamente proteja a las personas, especialmente a las mujeres y niñas, ya que hoy en día la legislación española es “alegal, insuficiente y contradictoria”.

“No podemos normalizar que el cuerpo de las mujeres sea un negocio lucrativo; necesitamos una ley integral contra la prostitución y contra la trata con fines de explotación sexual”.
